Juliana Yeh to Head, WPP Asia Pacific Corporate Comm
WPP has appointed Juliana Yeh as Head of Corporate Communications, WPP Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore initially, Juliana will have responsibility, both internally and externally, for maintaining and continuing to develop the Group’s profile and raise awareness of its multiple initiatives, driving media relations and fostering strong internal communications, across the region.
She will focus special attention on the high-growth markets of China and India, among others. Accordingly, she will work closely with WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell, chief Strategy/ Digital Officer Scott Spirit, as well as senior regional executives at WPP operating companies. Within China, one of the Group’s core markets, Juliana will be working closely with Vivian Wang in Beijing, Associate Director, Corporate Communications, WPP China.
Juliana succeeds Belinda Rabano in this parent company role, who, after nine very productive years in the post, has decided to return to the US for family reasons.
Singapore-born Juliana brings extensive international media experience to her new role, after 13 years with CNBC International in Asia, producing content for its global media platforms. She was instrumental in building the network’s editorial presence in China, from the set-up of its Beijing bureau to its first-ever live broadcast from Tiananmen Square focusing on China’s leadership meetings. Her reports on the country’s economic growth in the lead-up to the Beijing Olympics also garnered a New York Festivals award.
After CNBC, Juliana served as Deputy Head of Corporate Communications (Asia) for Christie’s, developing the auction house’s brand leadership and strategy for key Asian markets.
Juliana, pictured below, holds a journalism degree from Queensland University of Technology in Australia. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
This appointment is effective from March 7.
