I&B Min asks News Channels to carry DD signals

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has advised all News television channels interested in carrying the live telecast of the Independence Day Flag Hoisting ceremony and commentary to carry the signals of ‘DD News’ with sign language interpretation.

This would enable people with hearing impairment to witness the telecast of Independence Day celebrations.

The ‘DD news’ channel would be carrying the sign language interpretation of the Independence Day Flag Hoisting ceremony. Private satellite TV channels can avail the feed of the Independence Day Flag Hoisting ceremony and commentary free of cost.

The Ministry has been getting requests from members of the civil society to facilitate access to people with hearing impairment to the telecast of the Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony and commentary by various television channels so that such citizens could join in celebrating Independence day.
