Chiat Awards Adds New Category for 2015
The 4A’s, the leading trade association representing the advertising agency business, officially kicks off the submission period for its prestigious Jay Chiat Awards for Strategic Excellence program.
The program recognizes the best strategic thinking in marketing, media and advertising around the world. This year, the new category of media has been added in recognition of their valuable strategic contribution.
“As an organization representing the entire agency ecosystem, we’re trying to bring creative and media agencies together,” said Mollie Rosen, EVP Agency Relations & Membership, 4A’s. “Though the Jay Chiat Awards have always been intended to honor the range of marketing professionals, the awards have traditionally been dominated by creative agencies. We wanted to send a message to the media community that we know their work is just as important.”
Two member studies commissioned by the 4A’s discovered an immense gap between creative and media agencies. And, in fact, last year’s Jay Chiat Awards were dominated by submissions from creative agencies.
“Media has never been as important as it is today,” said Bill Tucker, EVP Media Relations, 4A’s. “It’s a critical resource for clients in driving insights, architecting consumer experiences and building holistic and breakthrough strategies and communications plans. By adding a media category, we want to demonstrate our commitment to the media community and our great desire to further engage all our media colleagues at a time of excitement and transformation.”
There is much more to come in the near future from the 4A’s in building out media agency strategy value proposition for its members.
This year marks the 19th annual Jay Chiat Awards for Strategic Excellence. The winners of the 4A’s Jay Chiat Awards 2015 will be announced at the 4A’s Strategy Festival 2015, October 5–6, in New York.
